Fostered Deception

Associate Producer

Fostered Deception is a poignant SCAD graduate thesis film that explores themes of chosen family, class, and unspoken trauma. The narrative unfolds around two fractured families entangled in mistaken identities and buried truths, culminating in a powerful meditation on irreversible loss and the resilience required for healing. The film aims to amplify underrepresented voices and shed light on often overlooked emotional experiences.

As Associate Producer, I supported the project from development through production. My responsibilities included:

  • Contributing to fundraising efforts for the film’s $6K budget

  • Coordinating communication between producers and external collaborators

  • Managing crew logistics and department coordination across grip, camera, and other technical teams

  • Organizing catering and meal planning for a 60-person crew over a 3-day shoot

  • Supporting daily production needs and streamlining interdepartmental workflow

Through this project, I learned a lot about the the importance of clear communication across departments like camera, grips and production design
